gear.&nbsp; All other expenses must be paid for through fundraising and dues.</FONT></P> <P ALIGN=LEFT><FONT FACE="Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Sans-serif,sans-serif"></FONT><FONT FACE="Verdana,Tahoma,Arial,Helvetica,Sans-serif,sans-serif">The yearly participation fee for the Troop is currently $60 for scouts and $30 for adults. This fee is subject to change at the sole discretion of the committee.&nbsp; The participation fee supplements the Troop s fundraising activities and is designed to fund typical troop expenses, including badges, recharter fees, camping equipment, etc.</FONT></P> <P ALIGN=LEFT><FONT FACE="Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Sans-serif,sans-serif"></FONT><FONT FACE="Verdana,Tahoma,Arial,Helvetica,Sans-serif,sans-serif">An activity fee is typically charged for each activity, such as summer camp and district campouts. Normally, the Scout is expected to cover the cost of his food for weekend campouts and hikes.&nbsp; </FONT></P> <P ALIGN=LEFT><FONT FACE="Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Sans-serif,sans-serif"></FONT><FONT FACE="Verdana,Tahoma,Arial,Helvetica,Sans-serif,sans-serif">The troop subsidizes the cost of Scout activity attendance when it is able to, however, Troop fundraising alone will never completely cover the expenses associated with an active scout program.</FONT></P> <P ALIGN=LEFT><FONT FACE="Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Sans-serif,sans-serif"></FONT><FONT FACE="Verdana,Tahoma,Arial,Helvetica,Sans-serif,sans-serif">The Troop committee has a finance chair who is responsible for the Troop s bank account and other funds. The cost of camping trips as well as summer camp is partially paid by the troop from its fundraising proceeds. Likewise, the cost of each year's registration fees and Boys Life subscriptions is normally paid in full by fundraising proceeds.</FONT></P> <P ALIGN=LEFT><FONT FACE="Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Sans-serif,sans-serif"></FONT><FONT FACE="Verdana,Tahoma,Arial,Helvetica,Sans-serif,sans-serif">The Troop has purchased all necessary Troop equipment such as tents, tarps, stoves, and lanterns. Again, fundraising efforts make this possible. Fundraising requires scout and parent support -- and participation. The money in each scout s account is made available to offset the cost of summer camp, other campouts and activities, and for the purchase of pre-approved uniform items and camping gear.
